| The new chromium-plated
version is conductive and prevents an electrostatic loading. At the same
time, the high gloss coating of the sampler tube and hood reflects solar
radiation. Even during intensive sun exposure in the summer
months, temperature measurements where only slightly higher (~ 5 K) in relation
to the ambient air temperature. A back-diffusion of the adsorbed gases
in the diffusion sampler is thereby highly reduced.

For the change
of the diffusion sampler and the collection plate, the tube is
swung out laterally over the equipment base as before. New with the chromium-plated
plastic version is a sampler base manufactured out of weather-proof antistatic
plastic. Even under extreme conditions an influence of the sampling characteristics
due to electrostatic loading can be excluded.

Alternatively
to the glass-clear sticky foil, the new version allows sedimentation
sampling of coarse dust particles above 2.5 µm particle diameter
with adhesive glass slides (76 mm x 26 mm). The collecting device (glass
slides) can also be adapted as required by the respective methods of analysis.
The integrated mounting plate at the bottom of the sampling device further
allows the use of the sticky foil in the standard format of 65 mm x 65
